ABOUT
My name is Cristina Mazza Piccolo. I was born in beautiful Brescia, northern Italy and have always been passionate about learning and discovering. This is the reason why, at an early age, I started studying foreign languages and traveling – and learned that languages can shape people's thought, culture, and perception of the world.
After graduating Summa cum Laude in Conference Interpreting and Translation at the University of Bologna, Italy – School of Interpreting and Translation, and numerous travel and work experiences in England, France, and Canada, in 2001 I started my career as freelance interpreter and translator. My career in the tourism industry started in 2003, first as project manager in my home region’s tourism promotion agency and then as tour guide, tour director, and tour planner in the U.S.
I have lived in the Chicago area since 2009 and have had the joy and privilege to showcase my beautiful city and the Midwest to hundreds of domestic and international visitors, as well as work on numerous interpretation assignments across North America and Italy.
